(This article was written in April 2015 and was printed in the excellent astrology magazine “The Mountian Astrologer” in June of that year. I subsequently forgot to put it up on my site, but with the November 2016 election imminent, it is worth reading – Adrian)
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

First there was Bush senior, then Clinton (Bill), then Bush junior and currently the Obama interlude. Could it soon be Clinton (Hillary) in an amazing sequence of political musical chairs, or could the Bush dynasty sweep up the winnings with a third member of their family, Jeb Bush? The race for the November 2016 US election is now definitively on, with the announcement by Hillary Clinton that she was running for president. (Note 1)<\/p>\n

It has always been a bit of a problem astrologically to analyze Hillary Clinton\u2019s chart because of conflicting the birth times of 8 p.m. and 8.00 a.m. but recently a chart for 8.02 a.m. seems to be winning favor, so even though it is \u201cdirty data\u201d it is worth examining the horoscope in more detail.<\/p>\n

\"Hillary<\/a><\/p>\n

Hillary Clinton Oct 26 1947. 8.02 Chicago, IL. AS 22.07 SC<\/em><\/p>\n

The 8.02 birth time gives a very convincing horoscope, far more suited than the earlier time to the powerful politician and trained lawyer that she is. With a Scorpio Ascendant and rulers Mars and Pluto conjoined at 14 Leo in the 9th<\/sup> house, this shows a formidable lawyer and negotiator, and reflects rather well the period as Secretary of State under Obama, when she traveled the world meeting powerful leaders. Mercury conjoining the Ascendant and exactly square Saturn also shows an incredibly hard-working person who has worked overtime mastering all the facts. The fact the Mercury rules the MC and conjoins the Ascendant is a strong signature of someone whose life is dedicated to the business of politics. Also, with 7th<\/sup> house ruler Venus in exile and square Mars in Leo, there are indications of unhappy love and a husband\u2019s secret affairs.<\/p>\n

Rectification of the Birth Time<\/strong>
\nLooking at the events in Clinton\u2019s life it turns out that their correlation with the birth time is really great. For example when she went to Yale to study law in 1970 (and met Bill) her MC progressed had just moved into Libra, and it was precisely sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius, which is a fantastic placement for law and foreign affairs. She married Bill Clinton in October 1975 when the progressed Ascendant was exactly sextile Mars\/Pluto. When her husband became president in January 1993 her Ascendant was at 23 Libra (on the fortunate star Spica) and it constellated with her node at 23.34 Taurus and Moon at 22.51 Pisces. She was elected to senator for New York in November 2000 with Mars progressed at 5.04 Virgo exactly on the MC and her MC progressed conjoining her Sun! She lost the Democratic Primary to Obama then subsequently became Secretary of State in 2008 with her Ascendant progressed quincunx Mars\/Pluto and her MC progressed at 9.04 Scorpio which just happens to be at the midpoint of and sesquisquare her Moon and Uranus,<\/p>\n

The only thing dirty about this data is that it has been leaked, because it surely is the correct birth time.<\/p>\n

Indications for Success and Failure<\/strong>
\nSo, on April 10th<\/sup>, Hillary Clinton considered herself to be sufficiently prepared to announce her bid for president for the second time in her life. It\u2019s good timing, because her MC progressed at 15.54 Scorpio is now about to conjoin her Venus at 16.13 and her Ascendant progressed at 20.41 Capricorn is about to sextile Mercury (and quincunx Saturn).<\/p>\n

This means that at the January 2017 inauguration, her Ascendant progressed will be at 22.40 Capricorn exactly sextile her Moon in Pisces, and soon to trine her North Node. This is a rather lovely indication of popularity and not bad for a move either, as the Moon is in her 4th<\/sup> house. The moon is supposed to be White, right?<\/p>\n

Having said that, these are really early days. Other democratic candidates will appear to challenge Clinton \u2013 poor them \u2013 and there will be a whole host of Republican hopefuls who stand a good chance of getting elected. (Note 2) After two Democratic terms with Obama, the US electorate is probably dying for a change, and the Republicans will really have to shoot themselves in the foot to lose. But, they are quite adept at that. The only time in recent history that a party has won a third consecutive term was with the elder Bush, who came in on the shoulders of the much-loved President Reagan.<\/p>\n

There are also other factors to consider. Bill Clinton had Libra rising and a Venus\/Jupiter conjunction in the first house, as well as Sun in Leo, so he was like a magnet to the electorate. (And obviously to various lusty women too). Hillary has Mercury rising in Scorpio square Saturn, and she has to work really hard at being liked. This is not exactly the picture of spontaneity. Also, with her Mars\/Pluto conjunction, she is a pretty scary woman\u2026 the kind of person who is happy to crush opponents, which, when it comes to dealing with Putin and other difficult world leaders is not necessarily a bad thing. It was rather a clever move of Obama to appoint her as Secretary of State, because her Mars, Pluto and Saturn stellium falls right on his Descendant, so as a bulldog emissary she was great for him.<\/p>\n

Strengths and Weaknesses<\/strong>
\nClearly, with her Moon in Pisces trine the Ascendant\/Mercury conjunction (along with Venus), she is a caring and committed person who is strongly motivated to empathize and help the underprivileged. Her Sun in Scorpio in the 12th<\/sup> house is also typical for politicians who feel they have a higher calling and live to serve their country. Bush junior had it, and both British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown had it. There are often religious undertones with this placement. Hillary Clinton is strongly influenced by a Methodist background, and is well versed in diverse world religions.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worth taking a much closer look at Mercury in Scorpio, because this could prove to be her Achilles Heel. This planet was actually stationary at birth and about to move retrograde, which it did, going direct again at 5.29 Scorpio when she was 20. This means that Mercury progressed squared Mars\/Pluto at the age of 9 \u2013 it would be nice to know what happened then, but it will be secret \u2013 and then again at 30-31. This was the time her husband was elected governor of Arkansas, but it was also the time she became a partner at the Rose Law firm, where she made spectacular profits from trading cattle futures, where an initial $1000 investment increased one hundred fold. It was also at this time that the real-estate venture Whitewater was started, which was later to cause her so many problems. (Note 3)<\/p>\n

The trouble with Mercury in Scorpio square Saturn is that there is a real tendency to bury facts. Consider the recent scandal about her private email account, which was operated from a server in her own house and through which she conducted all business, both political and private. The fact the server was privately maintained means that the emails are not stored anywhere else after deletion, and she did have her staff delete a large proportion of mails she claimed were private.<\/p>\n

Smokescreens, Intimidation and Lies<\/strong>
\nThis places Hillary Clinton in a very vulnerable position. At the time of the election her Mercury progressed is actually conjoining her Sun progressed \u2013 an indication of the high-octane events around the election \u2013 but they are also exactly square her Neptune. With her progressed Moon conjoining Neptune and activating Sun\/Mercury just two months before the election, there can be a major event that undermines perception of Clinton\u2019s honesty. This is a clear indication that the email scandal and other secrets will not go away, which can seriously damage Democratic chances up to the election.<\/p>\n

Furthermore \u2013 and this is extra ammunition which Republican opponents are sure to use \u2013 there is the question of Hillary Clinton\u2019s credentials as a champion for women\u2019s rights. There is no problem with her championing the rights of women to break the glass ceiling, but Venus in Scorpio square Mars, Pluto and Saturn, could make it difficult for her to win the hearts of a lot of women. It is difficult to imagine that Gennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinski, Kathleen Willey or Juanita Broaddrick, all women who either had or claimed to have sexual involvement with Bill, will be voting for Hillary Clinton, not least because both Bill and Hillary Clinton were actively engaged in trying to discredit them. (Note 4) Willey, who accused Bill Clinton of rape and Hillary of mounting a terror campaign against her, was quoted as saying: \u201cShe is the war on women, as far as I\u2019m concerned.<\/em>\u201d Considering Hillary\u2019s Mars\/Pluto square Venus, this is an interesting remark.<\/p>\n

The Election Chart<\/strong>
\nThe election will take place in early November, as is tradition.<\/p>\n

\"US-Election-2016\"<\/a><\/p>\n

2016 US Election. November 8th<\/sup> 2016. 6.00 Washington DC AS 6.55 SC<\/em><\/p>\n

Generally voting starts at 6.00 a.m. in the USA with voting over by 6 p.m. in Hawaii. During this time the Moon will move from Aquarius to Pisces, with the Moon about to conjoin Neptune and going on to square Saturn which suggests a slightly depressed mood the morning after. Generally this planetary combination is \u201cleft-wing\u201d and associated more with social concerns than business concerns. Interestingly Mars also changes sign a couple of hours after the close of polls, going from Capricorn to Aquarius, which suggests a fresh, even enlightened, change. It seems very likely that Mars, which over the previous two months has squared Jupiter, conjoined Pluto and finally squared Uranus, indicates a male, business-friendly Republican candidate with a bullying demeanor and extreme views\u2026 a person who will be completely out of the picture the day after the election.<\/p>\n

Venus is in a fantastic position in this election horoscope. It is on the Galactic Center and in a beautiful reception with and quintile Jupiter in Libra. With the sextile from the Moon in Aquarius, Venus is a real winner here, and whoever best reflects this aspect will become President. When Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy, she chose a time when the moon had just entered Aquarius, trining Venus which had just arrived in Gemini, which suggests that she is portraying herself as a friendly person, geared to women\u2019s needs and a multicultural approach, which is very much in harmony with Venus in the Election Chart.<\/p>\n

The Inauguration Chart<\/strong>
\nWhen the 45th<\/sup> president of the United States is inaugurated on January 20th<\/sup> 2017 at noon, the moon will be in Scorpio in close trine to Neptune in Pisces, and going on to trine Venus and Mars, which are also in Pisces. This seems to indicate a presidency with strong ideals, a very compassionate approach and a focus on health and the needs of the underprivileged. Once again this does not really have a Republican feel, and it closely resonates with Hillary Clinton\u2019s Scorpio Ascendant and Moon in Pisces.<\/p>\n

Based on this rather broad look at the astrological indications, the chances for a new Clinton as president seem quite favorable. But a lot can happen, and I would not bet on this result.<\/p>\n

But there is one result I would bet on. The 45th<\/sup> president is going to be a one-term president. If Hillary Clinton is elected, she will lose in 2020. At this time her MC progressed conjoins Mercury and squares Saturn. She will be 73 and tiring, and she will not be popular. On the other hand, if a Republican becomes president in 2016, then a Democrat will be president in 2020.<\/p>\n

The reason for this is quite simple. Between the November 2020 election and the January 2021 inauguration, Jupiter and Saturn move to conjoin at 0 Aquarius, which is the beginning of a Great Mutation in Air signs stretching for two hundred years into the future. It is a new era, and it can\u2019t use an old president. In fact the inauguration chart has an exact Mars\/Uranus conjunction in Taurus squaring this Jupiter\/Saturn conjunction, which is quite a \u201cright-wing\u201d business friendly, government-averse combination. This is another indication that the 2020 president will be Republican, and that therefore the 2016 president will be Democrat.<\/p>\n
